SUSTAINABILITY – IN ALL DIMENSIONS
We feel particularly committed to the principle of sustainability – as a forward-looking company with a long tradition, but also very personally, as responsible people on this globe. Today more than ever – and in all three dimensions: social, ecological and – clearly – also economic.
Asserting human rights standards
The German textile and fashion industry’s Code of Conduct sets out the standards for socially responsible behaviour as a framework for orientation. At JUMBO-Textil, we are expressly committed to asserting human rights, labour, social and ecological standards in economic value-added processes.
Protecting nature and the climate
This is why we exclusively use green electricity and green gas in our production and administration. And we rely on energy-efficient manufacturing processes. For this, too, we have received certification in accordance with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard. Wherever possible, we optimise and shorten supply routes in our sourcing of raw materials. This helps us to minimise CO2 emissions. All raw materials used comply with the Environmental Directives of the European Union. In addition, we manufacture all narrow textiles in line with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
Protecting biodiversity
The numerous insects and other meadow animals in the 1,000-square-meter wildflower meadow around our headquarters help us protect biodiversity. Together with the city of Sprockhövel, we have been able to expand this even further: the city provided the neighbouring property for this purpose, while the seeds came from us. Our “bee meadow” is a colourful piece of the earth. One look out the window and we know exactly why sustainable management is so close to our hearts.
