Apprenticeships at JUMBO-Textil to kick-start your career
Next generation – apprenticeships or dual studies at JUMBO-Textil
If you think jeans and bed linen when you hear the word textiles, you are barking up the wrong tree in our case. Special braiding for seating systems in electric vehicles, high-performance rubber ropes for on-site cranes, skin-friendly elasticated tapes for exoskeletons: JUMBO-Textil develops and produces high-tech components for high-tech products. The perfect environment for an apprenticeship or dual studies: future-proof and varied.
As an apprentice or a student on dual studies with JUMBO-Textil, you are part of our project team right from the outset. You work with your colleagues on exciting and challenging tasks. You receive intensive support and encouragement from your training supervisor. And you are soon given your own field of responsibility. After completing your training, you have the best chances of being taken on into full-time employment. And we continue to support you after you complete your training with advanced qualifications – as a technician or master craftsperson depending on your vocation.

Lots of technology, many tasks
As a textile production mechanic, your job is to set up braiding, weaving and knitting machines. You monitor production. You maintain the equipment and, if necessary, also carry out minor repairs. You also check whether the goods meet all quality requirements. Training as a textile production mechanic is a 3-year recognised apprenticeship in the industry. Training takes place at one of the world’s leading training centres for textile technology – the Textilakademie in Germany’s North-Rhine Westphalia region.

As an industrial clerk at JUMBO-Textil, you are involved in all the important business processes of a modern, internationally active company. From costing through purchasing to sales. Communication with customers and suppliers all over the world is also part of the job. The apprenticeship as an industrial clerk is a 3-year recognised apprenticeship in the industry.
Lots of equipment, lots of variety
As an industrial mechanic, you make sure that the machines in our Production keep on running perfectly. Installing, setting up, maintaining and repairing machines, and producing spare parts – all of this is part of your job. As an apprentice, you are right in the thick of the production environment right from the outset: your trainer shows you how to turn, mill and file professionally. The apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic is a recognised 3-year apprenticeship in the industry.
Dual training: At vombaur, you can also combine an apprenticeship as a textile production mechanic with a degree in textile technology or innovative textiles. In cooperation with the technical university RWTH Aachen, the Hochschule Niederrhein (Lower Rhine University) and Hochschule Hof (University of Hof), you will complete your vocational training and a bachelor’s degree in 4½ years. You play an active role in project teams right from the start. Practical experience in the enterprise also offers massive benefits during your studies. And the theoretical knowledge from your studies helps you with your practical work.

I think it’s fantastic that apprentices at JUMBO-Textil are also assigned tasks with responsibility and that our supervisors place so much trust in us. But the greatest proof of that trust was when I was taken on full-time after my apprenticeship. It doesn’t get any better than this.
